Town Hall is a place where all residence within a community will visit at some point, as it is a place meant to serve its community. At the end of February a collection of imagery around the theme “Human Connection & Community” will be on view at the Alliston Town Hall. Also known as the New Tecumseth Administrative Centre, this selection of work will be on exhibit from February 26th – May 22nd, 2025. If you are able, I invite you to visit the town hall to see the artwork that will be on display.

The South Simcoe Arts Council's (SSAC) Art in Our Community Program presents an exhibition of work by Sarah Hawley from February 26th – May 22nd, 2025 at the New Tecumseth Administrative Centre (Alliston Town Hall) in Alliston, Ontario. This body of work will be on display inside the front foyer, in the waiting area beside the front desk. The exhibition consists of a small collection of black and white photographs that document the signs of human connection within a community through scenes and objects. Asking the question, what does it mean to be part of a community? These images show examples of this in everyday situations in several different forms. The intent is to show the benefits of being part of a community. These photographs are a mix of images that were taken right here in Simcoe County.

This exhibition was made possible through a program offered by the South Simcoe Arts Council (SSAC) known as Arts in Our Community (AiOC). AiOC is a program that partners with local businesses and showcases artwork by local artists. The program is free for SSAC members to participate and the SSAC takes care of any artwork sales and inquiries. They also post artwork images from the exhibition on their website to increase exposure. To learn more, please visit: https://southsimcoeartscouncil.com/exhibits/aioc-details

I would like to thank and acknowledge the South Simcoe Arts Council and those directly involved with the Arts in our Community program. I appreciate all the hard work of those involved, who make this program possible. A special thank you to the New Tecumseth Administrative Centre for participating in the AiOC program, by allowing the SSAC to use their wall space to showcase the artwork of local artists. It’s a pleasure to work with you.
