This image entitled I Spy was taken about a year ago near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. I thought it was an interesting image because the security cameras are not watching or monitoring anything. The beach and parking lot that this camera is perched above is in an area that is deserted for most of the year and only in the summer time do the tourists and cottage owners flock to the beach, however, since the outbreak of COVID there has been a decreased number of people who visit the area, even in the summer. So I was wondering what is the point of these security cameras. Who is big brother watching here and why? I Spy has me thinking about expanding this one image into an entire series of photographs that explores the theme of security cameras, surveillance and big brother.
